Privacy Policy for Screen Recorder

Last updated: 25 August 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Screen Recorder ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App. Screen Recorder is a screen and audio recording utility. We built it to work entirely on your device: recordings are never uploaded to us or to any server we control.

1.1 Who we are

Screen Recorder is developed and published by Techtenstein, a software development entity based in India.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

The App itself does not run analytics and does not automatically collect any information about you or your device beyond what is strictly required to display advertisements, described in Section 3.

2. Information We Collect

The App does not require an account, sign-up, or login. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifier.

When you use the App to record your screen, the App may, based on your own settings, also record:

All recordings are saved as video files directly to your device's local storage (in the Movies/Screen Recorder folder), using Android's MediaStore. Recordings never leave your device through any action of the App itself. We have no server, and no copy of your recordings is ever transmitted to us.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party service to support free use of the App:

3.1 Advertising — Google AdMob

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), general device information, and approximate location to serve and measure advertisements. Where you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent tool to ask for your consent before any personalized advertising is requested; if you decline, only non-personalized ads (if any) are shown. You can review or change your ad-personalization choices at any time in your device's system settings (Settings > Google > Ads on Android) or by resetting the consent form from within the App's Settings screen.

Google's own privacy practices for AdMob are described at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.

4. How We Use Information

The only information any party processes in connection with the App is the advertising-related data described in Section 3, which Google uses to select and measure the ads shown to you. We do not use, sell, or otherwise process your recordings, microphone audio, or any personal data, because none of that ever reaches us.

5. Local Notifications

While a recording is active, the App shows a persistent local notification (required by Android for any app performing background screen capture) so you always know recording is in progress and can stop or pause it from the notification. This notification is generated entirely on your device and is never sent from, or reported to, any server.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your information. We do not share your recordings with anyone, because we never receive them. The only data shared with a third party is the advertising data described in Section 3, shared directly between your device and Google as the ad-serving provider — the App itself does not relay or store that data.

7. Data Retention

7.1 Recordings

Your recordings remain on your device until you delete them, either from within the App's library screen or directly through your device's file manager. We have no access to them and cannot delete them on your behalf.

7.2 App Preferences

Your recording quality and audio preferences are stored locally on your device (using Android's standard app-preferences storage) and are removed automatically if you uninstall the App.

8. Your Rights

Because the App does not collect or store personal data on any server we operate, there is no personal data held by us for you to access, correct, or request deletion of. If you have questions about data processed by Google AdMob on your device, you can exercise your rights directly with Google via the links in Section 3.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the App and provided information contrary to this policy, please contact us using the details in Section 12.

10. International Data Transfers

Because we do not operate any server, we do not transfer your data internationally. Advertising data described in Section 3 is processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy policy, which may involve international transfers governed by Google's standard contractual safeguards.

11. Security

Your recordings are stored using Android's standard app and media storage protections on your own device. We recommend keeping your device's operating system and security settings up to date, as we have no ability to protect data that never reaches us.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable law. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
